SOYA 65/SOYA RECIPES

It was a long time back that my recipe Soya65 got published in Kungumam Thozhi May last year.I have made this recipe a couple of times as daughter likes soya products and iam to make it as it is healthy too.Though i have a Paneer 65 recipe iam posting this since this is a little different from the Paneer65 recipe.It is quite a tasty and crispy one with soft in the middle and kids would surely love this for sure.

INGREDIENTS
  • Soya Chunks-1 cup
  • Maida-1/2 cup
  • Corn Flour-3 tsp
  • Grated Ginger-1/2 tsp
  • Crushed Garlic-1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Chaat Masala Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt-to taste
  • Green Chilli-1
  • Curd-1/4 cup
  • Curry Leaves-a few
  • Oil-for deep frying+for frying sauteeing the soya chunks

HOW TO MAKE

  • Boil soya chunks in water and once it gets soft and cooked strain and keep aside for later use.

  • Grate ginger and crush garlic.In a bowl add maida,corn flour, half the quantity of red chilli powder,garam masala powder,grated ginger.crushed garlic and salt.

  • Add water and make a batter with little water.The batter should be like neither too thin nor too thick.Add now cooked soya chunks.Coat them well in the batter.

  • In a pan of hot oil fry in batches coated soya chunks.Wait till they turn golden brown.

  • Take them on a tissue paper.In a pan add oil followed bygrated ginger and crushed garlic.Also add green chilly and curry leaves.

  • Add red chilly powder,garam masala powder,chaat masala powder and salt..Add curd.

  • Mix well till moisture is absorbed and oil leaves the sides of the pan.

  • Add fried soya chunks and toss well.

  • Soya 65 is ready to be served.Serve it as a snack or as a starter to grace any occasion.

  • If you want a chinese twist add in the last half a teaspoon of soya sauce.
  • Adding jeera powder also enhances the taste.
  • Chilli powder can be substituted for pepper powder.

CHILLY PANEER DRY/PANEER RECIPES

DSC03672Chilli Paneer is a yummy indo chinese which is loved by kids and grown ups too.I prepared this last week as a starter when I had guests at home.I have never tried this athome,but only had a few times whenever we chanced to eat out.It is a dry version,but you can make the gravy type as well.Iam afraid it is fine to indulge in these type of recipes once in a while at home and share it with all.At home all enjoy chinese recipes and since this a fusion recipe was enjoyed more and I know this will be a regular feature at home from now on.So why don’t you try this tasty delicacy and serve your guests next time when they visit you?See down below,how I made it..

Paneer Cubes 1 cup
Maida 2 tsp
Corn Flour 2tsp

Capsicum 1
Spring Onion a few
Garlic 2 cloves
Ginger 1/2 inch bit
Red Chilli powder 1/2 tsp+1 tsp
Baking Soda 1/4 tsp
Oil 1 tsp+for deep frying
Black Pepper Powder 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Soya Sauce 1/2 tsp

HOW TO MAKE
  • Cut paneer cubes .In a bowl add maida,corn flour,salt,baking soda and red chilly powder.

  • Add water and make a thich batter.Add paneer cubes and coat well.

  • Heat oil in a pan and add coated paneer cubes in the hot oil.Take out once golden brown.

  • In a pan add crushed garlic,grated gingerand then chopped onion.Add red chilli powder,black pepper powder,salt and saute.Add now chopped capsicum.

  • Once they are fried a bit add paneercubes which have already been fried.

  • Add soya sauce and toss well.

  • Garnish with spring onions.Tasty Chilli Paneer Dry is ready.Enjoy it as starter or as a snack.

Notes
  • Fry paneer cubes golden brown and crisp.
  • You can add ginger-garlic paste too in place of whole garlic and ginger.
  • You can add ginger-garlic paste to the batter also.
  • Fry paneer cubes in small batches,otherwise they will stick with one another.

I always like to make innovative and new recipes and this one was a nice starter which I read in  a magazine.It has lots of veggies which  kids genarally fuss about and also the goodness of soya nuggets.When you are in the look out of making anything for a kids party,this is a must to try out and iam sure this will be a great hit,since my daughter loved it,all kids would love it as well.You can make the preparations like making the veg mixture in advance and proceed just when you would want to serve.Eastern Spice products have asked me write review and iam using there product veg masala in this recipe.The flavour was truly enchanting and aroma very pleasing.This masala is really a boon for working women.A nice variation from the regular starters,try this one out and let me know..

Soya Nuggets 1/4 cup
Boiled Potatoes 1
Capsicum  
Carrot 1
Peas a handful
Onion 1
Eastern Vegetable Masala 1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Red Chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
Bread Crumbs 3 tsp
Semolina/Rava/Sooji 3 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for sauteing and deep frying

HOW TO MAKE

  • Boil Potatoes an dpeel their skin and cube them.Chop vegetables and keep aside.In a pan add oil and saute onion.

  • Add rest of the veggies.Add one by one red chilli powder,Turmeric powder and eastern vegetable masala.

  • Meanwhile boil soya nuggets in water.Strain once cooked.

  • Grind in a blender soya nuggets and potatoes.Add this mixture to cooked vegetable mixture.

  • Add bread crumbs now.Fry till all moisture is absorbed.

  • Add sooji/rava to this mixture and mix well.

  • Make balls out of this mixture and arrange them on skewers.

  • Deep fry in  a pan of hot oil.

  • Soya Veg Kebab is ready to be served.Serve with tomato ketchup.

  • You can add veggies of your choice such as cauliflower,beans,etc.
  • Add maida in place of sooji/rava for a variation.
  • Adding chilli garlic paste also adds to taste.
  • While deep frying make balls tight so that they don’t fall apart in hot oil.
