SOYA 65/SOYA RECIPES

It was a long time back that my recipe Soya65 got published in Kungumam Thozhi May last year.I have made this recipe a couple of times as daughter likes soya products and iam to make it as it is healthy too.Though i have a Paneer 65 recipe iam posting this since this is a little different from the Paneer65 recipe.It is quite a tasty and crispy one with soft in the middle and kids would surely love this for sure.

INGREDIENTS
  • Soya Chunks-1 cup
  • Maida-1/2 cup
  • Corn Flour-3 tsp
  • Grated Ginger-1/2 tsp
  • Crushed Garlic-1/2 tsp
  • Red Chilli Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Garam Masala Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Chaat Masala Powder-1/2 tsp
  • Salt-to taste
  • Green Chilli-1
  • Curd-1/4 cup
  • Curry Leaves-a few
  • Oil-for deep frying+for frying sauteeing the soya chunks

HOW TO MAKE

  • Boil soya chunks in water and once it gets soft and cooked strain and keep aside for later use.

  • Grate ginger and crush garlic.In a bowl add maida,corn flour, half the quantity of red chilli powder,garam masala powder,grated ginger.crushed garlic and salt.

  • Add water and make a batter with little water.The batter should be like neither too thin nor too thick.Add now cooked soya chunks.Coat them well in the batter.

  • In a pan of hot oil fry in batches coated soya chunks.Wait till they turn golden brown.

  • Take them on a tissue paper.In a pan add oil followed bygrated ginger and crushed garlic.Also add green chilly and curry leaves.

  • Add red chilly powder,garam masala powder,chaat masala powder and salt..Add curd.

  • Mix well till moisture is absorbed and oil leaves the sides of the pan.

  • Add fried soya chunks and toss well.

  • Soya 65 is ready to be served.Serve it as a snack or as a starter to grace any occasion.

  • If you want a chinese twist add in the last half a teaspoon of soya sauce.
  • Adding jeera powder also enhances the taste.
  • Chilli powder can be substituted for pepper powder.

STRAWBERRY SOYA ICECREAM/SOYA RECIPES

This extraordinary recipe is a rare combo of strawberries and soya milk blended to form a creamy tasty all time favourite of almost everyone icecream.When I made homemade soya milk,I made chikoo soya milkshake using that.I made this strawberry soya icecream with the left over milk.It is healthy,tasty and more a treat for those kids and adults who are allergic to milk.This can be a boon for them and if you happen to have such family members at home,do do try out this and Iam sure all will like it to the core.I sent this recipe to Kungumam Thozhi’s 30 soya recipes which was published last month.Do try out and let me know..

INGREDIENTS

Soya Milk 2 cups
Strawberry 6-8
Sugar 3 tsp
Corn Flour 2 tsp
Pink Food Colour 1/2 tsp
Strawberry Essence 3 drops

HOW TO MAKE
  • In a blender add strawberries and sugar and make a paste.

  • Taking a pan and using a little soya mil, corn flour and pink food colour  make a solution and heat it.When it gets cooked switch off the flame and cool it.

  • Take the soya milk in a container which is freezable.Add pink corn flour mixture to it.

  • Add strawberry puree and essence.

  • Mix and freeze it.

  • After 3 hrs take it out and scrape it and put in a blender.

  • Run the mixer again to get a creamy texture.Put again the container to freeze and repeat the same proceedure 3 times.

  • After 3-4 hrs take it out.

  • Strawberry Soya Icecream is ready.Serve with fresh pieces of strawberry and sugar dots.

Notes
  • You can use apple,mangoes,banana,cherries and other fruits too in place of strawberries.
  • Adding nuts on top also enhances the taste.
  • Do not forget to churn 3 times as only that will result in creamy texture of icecream.

SOYA CHUNKS BIRYANI/LUNCH BOX IDEA/SOYA RECIPES

Soya Chunks Biryani is one of the long pending posts of my blog.I had made this as a contribution to kungumam thozhi magazine long back,but somehow didn’t get an oppurtunity to share here.One of the protein filled one pot meal and easy lunch box option with less oil.this is very easy to make and is loved by kids.Soya as we all know is the store house of proteins and is filling too.I make this often for daughter’s lunch box and needless to say it is loved by her friends as well.The aroma of soya chunks in rice coupled with spices paves way for a nice meal.Here goes the recipe of Soya Chunks Biryani..

INGREDIENTS

TO GRIND

 

Onion 1
Tomato 1
Mint Leaves a handful
Red Chilli Powder 1/4 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/4 tsp
Garam Masala Powder 1/4 tsp
Green Chilli 1
Clove 1
Garlic Pod 1

 

OTHER INGREDIENTS

Basmati Rice 1 cup
Soya Chunks 8
Coconut Milk 1/4 cup
Shahi Jeera 1/2 tsp
Onion 1
Oil 2 tsp
Salt to taste

HOW TO MAKE

  • Soak basmati rice in water.Boil soya chunks in water.

  • Add all the ingredients given in the to grind table to a fine paste.

  • In a pan add shahi jeera and when it crackles add chopped onion and soaked rice.

  • Add ground paste and salt.Add coconut milk now.

  • Add 1 1/4 cup water,salt and soya chunks and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
