It is always a constant nagging of my daughter to post something new in my blog.It so happened that i was not feeling to spend time too much in the kitchen , but still didn’t want to dissapoint her.We bought a can of baked beans from Nilgiris and i found a correct recipe to make and to please dhivya as well.Baked beans in tomato sauce has a unique taste and it was a filling soup as well when served warm.See the recipe which i adapted from tarla dalal making a few adjustments to suit our taste.
INGREDIENTS
| Baked beans | 1/2 cup |
| Pasta | 1/2 cup |
| Butter | 2 tsp |
| Dried oregano | 1/4 tsp |
| Tomato puree | 1/2 cup |
| Tomato | 1 |
| Onion | 1 |
| Salt | to taste |
| Corn flour | 1tsp |
| Cheese grated | for garnishing |
HOW TO MAKE
- Cook pasta in 2 cups of water and strain for future use.In a pan add butter and onions to saute.When done add chopped tomatoes.Also add salt and oregano.
- Add now baked beans mixture.Make tomato puree with the remaining tomatoes and add to the mixture.Make a slurry or paste of corn flour and water.
- Add corn flour mixture to the soup and then pasta.Add 2 1/2 cups of water and allow it to simmer till it thickens.
- Serve hot with grated cheese.
Notes
- You can add any kind of pasta to the soup.
- Add fresh cream for garnishing for extra taste.
