Paneer is a healthy supplement of protein and for kids it is healthy and filling.Now that most of the schools have reopened in India,I thought of posting this Paneer Pulao,which is a good lunch box option and a wholesome one pot meal.I was wanting to post this for a long time,but couldn’t click pictures.I made this last night as Dhivya loves Paneer in any form and couldn’t resist from making it.Usually any raita or gravy would taste great but I served with fresh salad and curd.You can try any innovative recipe with paneer and making rice with it is a good idea,when you are simply running out of any dinner menu ideas.Do try this very simple recipe and comeback here for feedbacks..
INGREDIENTS
TO GRIND
| Pudina/Mint Leaves | 20 |
| Coriander Leaves | a few |
| Tomato | 1 |
| Clove | 2 |
| Garlic | 1 pod |
| Basmati Rice | 1 cup |
| Paneer Cubes | 10 |
| Cumin/Jeera | 1/2 tsp |
| Onion | 1 |
| Oil | 2 tsp |
| Salt | to taste |
HOW TO MAKE
- Take the ingredients given in the to grind table,place in a blender and grind.
- Cut paneer in cubes and shallow fry them and keep aside.
- Soak rice in water for half an hour.In a cooker add oil and jeera.Add chopped onions now.
- Add ground paste and soaked basmati rice.
- Add cubed paneer pieces ,salt and1 1/2 cups of water
- Cook for 2-3 whistles.
- Paneer pulao is ready.
Notes
- You can add green chilles while grinding if you want pulao to be more spicy.
- Adding cinnamon powder will enhance the flavour.
- Adding ghee in place of oil also adds to the taste.
