INGREDIENTS

| Urad Dal | 1/2 tsp |
| Channa Dal | 1/2 tsp |
| Green Chilli | 2 |
| Asafoetida | 1/4 tsp |
| Oil | 3 tsp |
| Idiyappam | 2 cups |
| Tomato | 3 small |
| Onion | 1 |
| Green Peas | a handful |
| Red Chilli Powder | 1/2 tsp |
| Turmeric Powder | 1/2 tsp |
| Curry Leaves | a sprig |
| Coriander Leaves | a few |
| Salt | to taste |
HOW TO MAKE
- In a pan add all the ingredients given in the to temper table.Once mustard has crackled and dals have turned brown,add chopped onion.
- Add now green peas,curry leaves,red chilly powder and turmeric powder.Wait it it cooks and onion turns pink.
- Add chopped tomatoes and salt.Once the tomatoes are cooked and turn mushy,switch off the flame.
- Add cooked idiyappam and mix well.Garnish with green coriander leaves.
- Delicious Tomato Sevai/Tomato Idiyappam is ready to be served.Enjoy as it is or with any chutney or raita.
Notes
- You can make fresh idiyappam at home or use any store brand idiyappam and follow the instructions on the pack to cook.
- Add carrots and beans too for more taste.
- You can make a no onion version of this by avoiding onions too.
