THATTAI
Literally translated Thattai means to pat or flatten in tamiland is made by making flat rounds of rice flour dough and fried deep.It is a snack variety and made during Gokulashtami, but for me i'll make it any time of the year to munch on as a snack. It is one south indian snack item that doesen't require any moulds and really yummy to taste. It was during last week that i made this when my parents were here.My dad is fond of fried items and thougtht it would be nice to make this. When you knead the dough and keep everything ready,in no time you could make this.Generally thattai is one snack that is crispy, thin and great tea time snack. But iniatially when i made this i ended up in crispy thattais but they were real brownish. As they say practice makes a woman perfect,i have reached a level, where now i could confidentantly say,''Yes i can make thattais.'',if not master it.So here is the recipe folks ,do try and make this and let me know.
