I think capsicum is a very versatile vegetable so you can use it in many forms.This is a simple south indian style curry which i often end up making when i don’t have any ideas popping in my mind.You can have it with rice and chappathis too.I want to post a seperately on how to dessed in seconds the good old capsicum,as some of the seeds don;t taste good alongwith veggies.Now over to the simple, humble capsicum curry.
INGREDIENTS
| Capsicum | 2 |
| Mustard | 1/2 tsp |
| Urad dal | 1/2 tsp |
| Oil | 2 tsp |
| Sambhar powder | 1 /2 tsp |
| Salt | to taste |
| Curd | 1 tsp |
| Turmeric powder | a pinch |
HOW TO MAKE
- Wash and dice capsicum into dices.Deseed them carefuliy.In a pan add oil ,mustard and urad dal.When they crackle and dal turns brown add capsicum dices.
- Add salt,sambhar powder and turmeric powder.Cook till they turn soft,tender and glossy.Now add curd.Wait it is completely absorbed.
- Serve with hot steaming rice and any gravy.
Notes
- Addition of besan/Kadala Maavu also gives a crunchy texture.
- You can mix one potato with it to form a sabji.
