When we went out for my hubby’s birthday last year my daughter ordered american chopsuey.I had no idea until the order came and as dhivy began munching on it i could see the expression in her face that it wasgood.So i decided to try an attempt at it and succeded to some extent.This one i made recently as an evening snack which was throughly enjoyed and dhivya said it really tasted awesome.This recipe is adapted from tarla dalal with slight variations.Now here goes the recipe ..
INGREDIENTS
| Hakka Noodles | 1 packet |
| Cabbage shredded | 1/2 cup |
| Capsicum | 1/2 |
| Onion | 1 |
| Carrot | 1 |
| Spring Onion | a handful chopped |
| Oil | 2 tsp+to deep fry |
| Salt | to taste |
TO MAKE SAUCE
| Maida | 2 tsp |
| Sugar | 1 tsp |
| Soya Sauce | 1 tsp |
| Tomato Sauce | 2 tsp |
HOW TO MAKE
- Chop all vegetables in juliennes and chop spring onions.
- Take all ingredients in to make sauce table and make a paste with water.Add that paste in more water and cook to form a gravy like texture.
- Take a pan and add oil and throw in chopped onions and fry till pink.Add rest of the veggies now.
- Take half of the noodles and add to boiling water.Once cooked strain.
- Fry half of the noodles and keep aside.
- To the fried veggies add now,prepared sauce and boiled noodles.Add now green chilli sauce.Also add fried noodles.
- Garnish with spring onions and serve immediately.
Notes
- You can add spice by adding more sauce.
- You can even add chinese touch by adding vinegar.
