PAPDI FOR CHAATS/CHAAT RECIPES

It is my long wish to make these cute little papdis as daughter is fond of them.Ofcourse we love all kinds of chaats but for most of the chaat recipes alongwith  sev,papdi forms an integral part.It can be easily made at home and you can be rest assured that hygienic too .It was long pending in my blog to do this,so here iam with this crispy pooris.Besides using these for chaats you can eat them as a snack too.I made this for a small get together at home and all enjoyed it to the core.After trying out the chaats with papdi many times in the restuarants,all liked this and I was happy that it came crisp too.See down below the recipe for papdi..

INGREDIENTS
Maida 1 cup
Ajwain/Omam 1/2 tsp
Oil 1 tsp for dough+for deep frying
Salt to taste
Water as needed

HOW TO MAKE
  • Add maida,ajwain and salt in a wide vessel.Add oil now.

  • Add water little by little and form a soft dough and allow it to rest for half an hour.With the help of a rolling pin flatten it.

  • Use a cookie cutter or a lid to made round cuts as shown.Take them and keep them aside.

  • Prick these pooris with a fork.This will not allow the pooris to puff.Put the pooris in hot oil in a pan.

  • Once golden brown,take them out and drain in a paper towel.

  • Crispy Papdis are ready to be used in chaats or enjoy as it is.

Notes
  • Keep the papdis in an air tight container for longer shelf life.
  • Prick the pooris with a fork sothat the pooris don’t puff.
  • You can enjoy the pooris as it is as a snack,besides using them up for chaats.
